Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu can be overwhelming to a new student if not given the proper guidance. Our goal at Snow MMA is to introduce the student to the art in the most effective, simple, yet profound way possible. Basics classes are required for beginning practitioners with access to the instructor for private one-on-one lessons in some cases.
Our entire curriculum of classes is recorded and made available on our gym app. From white belt to black belt, the student will have access to technique videos that correspond to the curriculum requirements at his/her belt rank level.
Our competition team competes at the highest levels of the sport, taking gold medals at some of the most prestigious international open tournaments around the globe. In June of 2016, our athletes will take part and represent the Alliance team at the Mundial / World Championships in Long Beach, California.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a revolutionary martial art and self-defense system developed by the Gracie family in Brazil in the 1920s. Gracie / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was made famous in the U.S. after the success of Royce Gracie in the early days of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), when there were virtually no rules, weight classes, time limits, or points. The system’s effectiveness is based in the technical application of superior positioning, leverage, energy efficiency, and natural body movements. BJJ focuses on grappling, throws, takedowns, chokes, and joint manipulation. Through the last century, BJJ has continued to evolve and grow as it spreads all over the world.
We are very proud to represent the 11x World Champion team, Alliance Jiu-Jitsu, in the Dallas/ Ft Worth area.
Three primary applications of the system today:
2. Sport competition
3. No-Holds-Barred (NHB) or Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
